East-West-Network Europe (EWNE) e.V. aims to promote EAST-WEST European cooperation among different networks and groups of organization in order to increase the economic, institutional, cultural and social development in Europe.
The idea and first activities of EWNE started almost 10 years ago with a group of organisations and persons from Austria, Spain and Germany. At the beginning of 2009 EWNE has been new organised as a registered non-profit-association under German law (eingetragener Verein (e.V.)).
EWNE implements many of its activities through their national member network organisations in the different European countries. Thus, it is possible on the one side to follow a common strategy, but on the other side to use the in-depth know-how and experience of their members in the different territories.
The association EWNE has the following main purposes:
To promote co-operation between territorial and/or thematic networks whose focus lays on enhancing co-operation between East and West European countries in the institutional, economic, social and cultural areas.
To contribute to the economic and social development of the Central and Eastern regions of Europe through the promotion of co-operation with other European territories.
To reinforce and extend economic, institutional, educational, social and cultural exchanges between European citizens or national thematic networks as a necessary step towards the mutual understanding and the development of multi-disciplinary ("cross-thematic" or "cross-sectoral") common activities (e.g. common strategies, projects, conferences, etc.).
EWNE is now is registered as non-profit association in Germany. Now the headquarters of EWNE are placed in Westfalia in Germany.
Later on we publish here our ew activity plan.
